Meet our Veterinarians Dr. Steve Doerr, DVM and Dr. Erica Fenton, DVM

Dr. Doerr | DVM

Dr. Doerr is a native Tennessean. He was born and raised in West Tennessee on a small farm. He completed his undergraduate studies at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with a BS in Animal Science. Later, he graduated with his DVM from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. After spending 16 years in small animal practice in Northern California, he decided it was time to come home. He has practiced in the Nashville are for 4 years before joining Crossroads in October 2018. He and his family reside in the Nashville area and in his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters. Many rescues have passed through the Doerr household. Currently 2 Pitbull mix rescues, a 14 year old Border Terrier, a cat and a handful of chickens call the Doerr house home.

Dr. Fenton | DVM

Dr. Erica Fenton grew up in New jersey and attended Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina. she obtained her veterinary degree from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (Viginia Tech) in Blacksburg, Virginia in 2012. Dr. Fenton then completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal internal medicine, surgery, and emergency/critical care at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in North Carolina.
Dr.Fenton’s medical interests include internal medicine, wound management, feline medicine, and compassionate end of life care focusing on pain management. She is passionate about helping pets feel more comfortable and less stressed during their clinic visits. One of her favorite aspects of veterinary medicine is establishing relationships with clients and their pets,and watching them grow from young puppies and kittens to well-loved family members.
Dr. Fenton moved to Nashville in 2013 and is happy to call Middle Tennessee home. She lives with her husband, two dogs (a loud-mouthed beagle and blind yellow Labrador who are frequent fliers at doggie daycare), six cats, and a revolving roster of foster kittens. In her free time, she enjoys live music, hiking, tennis, and time in or on the water.
